Dear Tuscaloosa Stake Members,

Our Savior Jesus Christ, "...was the Firstborn of the Father, the Only Begotten Son in the flesh, the Redeemer of the world." (The Living Christ)

Under the direction of His Father, He was the creator of the earth. "All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made" (John 1:3).  "...by him, and through him, and of him, the worlds are and were created, and the inhabitants thereof are begotten sons and daughters unto God" (D&C 76:22-24)."

His light fills all the earth and the creations thereon.  His light fills us and provides hope for eternal life, salvation and exaltation.  That hope is meant to penetrate every aspect of our lives...listen to Him...trust Him...follow Him...be saved by Him..."that he may exalt you in due time:" (1 Peter 5:6)

Jesus Christ fulfilled His mission on the earth.  "He gave His life to atone for the sins of all mankind. His was a great vicarious gift in behalf of all who would ever live upon the earth.  He rose from the grave to "become the first fruits of them that slept" (1 Corinthians 15:20)" (The Living Christ)

He lifts our burdens, strengthens our love for each other, and gives us courage to press forward acting on modern day revelation.

"Of the Living Christ, the Prophet Joseph wrote: "His eyes were as a flame of fire; the hair of his head was white like the pure snow; his countenance shone above the brightness of the sun; and his voice was as the sound of the rushing of great waters, even the voice of Jehovah, saying:  "I am the first and the last; I am he who liveth, I am he who was slain; I am your advocate with the Father" (D&C 110:3-4)." (The Living Christ)

"Of Him the Prophet also declared: "And now, after the many testimonies which have been given of him, this is the testimony, last of all, which we give of him: That he lives!"  For we saw him, even on the right hand of God; and we heard the voice bearing record that he is the Only Begotten of the Father--" (The Living Christ)

The resurrected Lord lives.  He brings the assurance that life continues after this mortal experience.  We invite you to believe Christ, to place your hope on Him, to do what He commands and what He directs His leaders to do in His work of salvation.  We invite you celebrate His glorious resurrection, life and follow the Good Sheppard.

We add our testimony, to those given by many before, that Jesus Christ lives!  That He is the Savior of the world! That we are a part of His kingdom and great work of salvation among God's children!  We rejoice because of Him and humbly acknowledge that He directs Heavenly Father's work upon the earth and in meekness express our thanks, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
